Welcome to the Sonn Alm, at 1,342 m above sea level, our little paradise in the middle of the picturesque mountains of Saalbach Hinterglemm. Here, where nature still seems untouched and the air is clear and fresh, we, Manuela and Christoph Lassnig, have created a place of hospitality and enjoyment. Our adventure began with a dream: an alpine hut that would not only be a retreat for us, but also a meeting place for connoisseurs, hikers and families. The Sonn Alm is not just a business, but our life story, characterized by warmth and a deep connection to the region. With great attention to detail, we have created an atmosphere that combines traditional alpine elements with modern comfort. Every corner of the Sonn Alm reflects our commitment and passion for the well-being of our guests.
Christoph’s kitchen serves as a culinary anchor, in which he processes fresh, local ingredients into authentic delicacies every day. Manuela’s warm service makes every visit an unforgettable experience. Together we ensure that the Sonn Alm is more than just a destination – it is a feeling of being at home in the mountains.

A journey through time
How our little paradise blossomed
The Sonn Alm, originally built in 1967, began a new chapter in its history when Christoph and Manuela Lassnig took over in 2006. After the hut had fallen into serious disrepair over the years, the couple decided to rebuild it extensively, renewing almost everything. With great personal commitment and craftsmanship, they renovated the Alm piece by piece. The aim was always to preserve the charm and warmth of the original hut character. Their commitment and attention to detail have turned the Sonn Alm into a true jewel in the mountains, combining tradition and hospitality.
